CCQ’s

Definition: a personal attractiveness or interestingness that enables you to influence others

I know many people with this trait, but don’t know if I have it myself. According to this author, it is a trait that is rare in most people, but I think I’s easier to find it in people than not.

This is more common to find in people than charisma because it’s easier to be bold than to be nice. I like how this article uses evidence from people’s quotes. It reminds me of the interviews on TV when people are given a certain topic and they have to say what they think about it.

I think that I would fall under this category, along with most people in my family. This describes most of us perfectly. People with this characteristic are often the group of people I hang out with, because as the author said, they are the best to be around at all times.
Topic: The X-Factors of Success

Chunk 1: CHARISMA: The Spellbinders

MI Charismatic people are often liked and listened to. Charisma is a good trait to have but it cannot be taught or learned.

++ According to the author, charisma is found in people who inspire others and are essentially brilliant.

++ Charismatic people often hold others in a bond that makes them feel comfortable and want them to be around. They have a sense of togetherness and friendliness.

Chunk 2: CHUTZPAH: Oh, The Nerve

MI People who are fearless or brave are usually the ones to accomplish more things in life. They don’t hold back and they try their hardest, taking this for advantage to get stuff done.

++ According to this author, people who have chutzpah are the people who others envy. Everyone wants to have this.

++ Unlike charisma, this is something that can be learned in life and could get better as time goes on.

Chunk 3: JOIE DE VIVRE: The Day-Seizers

MI People with joie de vivre are fun to be around. They are very enthusiastic about everything, but when the mood in a room is down, they also feel sorrow.

++ This can also be taught, but some people are just so great to be around that they are the only one who could make you feel a certain way.

++According to this author, this could also be learned because of envy. People want to be liked, and want people to want to be around them so they do everything they can to have joie de vivre.

  • Did our instructions help you better understand how to make notes?
Yes, it did, and I like how everything is broken up by step.
  • Do you feel that after using these note-making strategies you have a better understanding of the text than if you had just read it? Why or why not?
Yes, because when everything is broken down by chunk it's easier to understand and I can focus more on just one chunk at a time.
  • Which of the Note-Making Essentials did you struggle the most with? Why?
Keeping track of vocabulary, because when I understand a word I don't think about it, but when I don't I usually skip over it.
